Our story as a species began 200 000 years ago when anatomically modern-appearing humans first came into existence. Twenty-one centuries after the Christ this saga of survival continues amongst unprecedented technological advances on the ever more populated and yet ever more locked in alienation Earth.

This documentary examines the devastating power of the European globalization and the migration forced by the hard conditions in Eastern Europe after the fall of the Iron Curtain. The film tells the story of the small East European land Bulgaria and follows it back on its tough voyage from people's detested communism to their cherished democracy.

You are invited to a least expected encounter in the heart of a West-European metropolis. This is a story about a small man in a big city, a story about everything one loses in every infatuated pursuit, but also a story about how to go on.
